Campania District School Newsletter – Written by student leaders Holly, Bailee and Maddi
What has been happening since our last newsletter?
On Tuesday the 1st of August some of Campania’s high school students participated in Reclink football against Tasman District School. The results of the game will be posted in the next upcoming newsletter.
In week one, Kinder to Grade 6 students participated in fire safety lessons with Alison from the Tasmania Fire Service. The students enjoyed the program and learnt many new things about fire safety. Thank you, Alison for coming in and educating the students on how to stay safe when there is a fire.
In week five the annual book week parade will be held at school. More information will be shared closer to the date. We are excited to see all the costumes that the students are wearing on the day.
Last term year 10 students went to their taster day at Rosny and Claremont College. This gave them information on courses and college structure. They also got to go to classes of their choice to get an idea of what college will be like.
We look forward to updating you again in week 4 on the exciting things happening in our school.
Last Friday, the Grade 9 History class visited Richmond Gaol to gain a better understanding of the impacts of colonialisation. They completed a scavenger hunt task and considered whether this primary source would be useful in studying colonialisation, including the impacts on the Tasmanian Aboriginal population.

In our Primary DT lesson on the last day of term we had some fun with the Green Screen. The students really got creative with their backgrounds.

Lil will be off on some fun activites over the next few weeks, let's save the dates.

See you all Wednesday, Miss Glover and Mrs Wicks
Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through Children's Book Week®. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities, and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading. You will often see parades with students dressed as their favourite book character. Staff and students look forward to the chance to dress up, this year our dress up parade will be held on Wednesday 23rd August in the school Gym.
If you are thinking about enrolling your child with us for Kinder 2024, please call our friendly office staff on 62604133.
