Reclink Football
On Tuesday I travelled with our Reclink Football team to the Hutchins School in Sandy Bay to participate in the Annual Reclink Gala Day. Our combined Campania/Bothwell District School team had gone through the rounds undefeated and were full of confidence going into the final. The final was played against the Triabunna Kangaroos. The final score was 92 points to 7, although this did not reflect the quality of the contest between the 2 teams. Our Campania players were outstanding through the game and were wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Southern Primary Schools Sports Association Winter Football Carnival
Earlier this term nominations were called for students interested in trying out for the Bowen Eagles regional football team. Students from across the South East region were invited to the tryouts. We were excited to see Jonty and Lynkon from our 5/6 class earn a spot on the team. The team played in the carnival on Tuesday and they put in an outstanding performance across all of their games.
Years 11/12 Covid 19 Vaccination Program
Our Year 11 students have the opportunity to have their Covid 19 Pfizer vaccine at Rosny College from Thursday 9 September – Tuesday 14 September as part of the Tasmanian Government’s super six-week vaccination blitz. We will confirm the date and time with Rosny College and we will then communicate this with our families. We will provide transport to and from Rosny. The clinic will then return to the school three weeks later to give second doses.
The Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective and has been approved for use on people aged 16 years and over by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
All eligible students are encouraged to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families, and the wider community.
Please remember there are new Check-In arrangements when visiting school.
You will now need to check in using the Check in TAS app when entering school buildings; this includes classrooms, the office or the canteen.
If you don’t have a smartphone, you can ask a staff member to help you check-in.
Let’s continue to do all we can to keep our schools safe.
For more information, visit www.checkin.tas.gov.au
It is important that we all continue to keep healthy and safe. To ensure we can keep on top of COVID and also cold and flu, make sure you:
- Be alert to any symptoms of cold or flu that you or your child may exhibit
- Get tested for COVID if you or your child have symptoms
- Practise good hygiene, such as covering coughs and sneezes and washing hands
Remember, symptoms include fever, tiredness, cough, headache, sore throat, sniffling and sneezing.
To keep our school safe, we are still:
- continuing with increased cleaning
- making sure there is plenty of soap, sanitiser and tissues available
- applying restrictions to large gatherings of adults and encouraging physical distancing
- requiring visitors to check-in on our sites
We appreciate your continued support with this.
Amazing effort by everyone! Thanks to all the students and staff who dressed up for our Book Week Parade! And a big thank you to families for their support. Thank you to Joan and Miss Smith for organising the Book Fair and Parade!
Our tour guide was telling us about different ways of recycling. Tyres are stripped down and mulched up for rubber matting under playground equipment. They take the springs out of the mattresses to recycle and the fabric is sent to be clean and used in punching bags. The students then enjoyed exploring the tip shop afterwards.

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey for students in Years 4-11
The wellbeing of our students is important to us. To get an understanding of how students across Tasmania feel about their own wellbeing, students in Years 4–11 at Campania District School will be taking part in a wellbeing survey. The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey is part of the Department of Education’s Child and Student Wellbeing Strategy.
The details for the survey are:
When:
Year 4 - Friday, September 10
Year 5/6 - Thursday, September 9
Year 7 – Monday, September 6
Year 8 – Monday, September 13
Year 9 – Monday, September 13
Year 10 – Monday, September 6
Year 11 – Friday, September 10
You and your child don’t need to do anything. The survey will be done in class time and will not require your child to prepare in any way. A letter was sent home with all students on Tuesday, August 24, including Frequently Asked Questions and a form to sign and return to the school if you do not want your child to participate in the survey. If you would like further information, please contact Campania District School. Thank you for supporting us to ensure that all our learners are safe, feel supported and are able to flourish, so they can engage in learning.
