In Prep/1 Ahokas and Levett, we have been learning about families and how things have changed over time. To help us explore the past, we borrowed a special “memory case” from the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG).
Inside were old kitchen items that people used many years ago. We had fun talking about what they were used for and comparing them to what we use in our kitchens today.
It’s been a great way for students to learn about history in a hands-on and engaging way!
On Tuesday, 2nd September, we held a few games of footy on the Campania oval. Our boys started at 10:30 with the semi-final to get into the ground final. They went down by a few goals, but played a fantastic game and showed our Campania values.
Our Girls team of Gr7-9 students played at 11:30 in the Grand Final. They took out the win, to claim the 2025 Girls Cup. Bella was named MVP of the Girls. Congratulations Bella! Thank you to our families who came and supported our students.

The Lea
In week 5 on Monday, we went to The Lea Scout Centre. When we got there, we walked to the archery field and learnt the rules about archery. It only took about five minutes before we could pick up the bows and arrow. Then after we got straight into shooting with a bow and arrow.
After archery, we played 3-way tug of war and we had to work together to get the discs. Then we went down to the trees. We had a choice of a hard, medium, or an easy challenge. In the, hard one, you couldn't ask any questions if you did you were taken out of the challenge, but they answered the questions asked. We then got our challenge, which was getting the bucket of water without touching the floor. Isla had to climb up a rope to get the bucket of water, it took her two tries to get it but with everyone’s help, she safely got back over the line.
After that we went down to the camping area and ran around on the logs playing tag where everyone was it, but if you got tagged or fell off the logs you were out of the game. We finished the couple of rounds that everyone played and then we walked back up to the buses to get our lunch. After everyone eventually ate their lunch, we all walked into a different area and the instructors showed us a challenge everyone had to do. It was a log swinging, everyone had to balance on the log but if anyone touched the ground, we had to restart. We ended up doing it right at the end of the 15-minute mark and then everybody fell, it was funny.
Afterwards we split into two groups One group went to the tires hanging off a tree with a rope. We had to swap two tires across without falling. The other group went to balance on a wire rope without falling they had a rope hanging so they could hold on.
Next, we went to 2 platforms where you would swing like Tarzan from one platform to another. Our goal was to get a small bucket of water with the handle down. Every time you had a good idea one instructor will put the handle up, finally one of the girls got it. After that we put the other platform further away and we were seeing who could swing the furthest landing on the platform, it would move every time. One of the girls landed on it.
The last obstacle was climbing across a wire with only help from our classmates, everyone fell at least once.
And that was the grade 7 trip to The Lea. It was fun and interesting. Everyone enjoyed it and everyone was participating and having fun.

A fantastic group of girls from Gr7-10 represented the school at Creek Road Sports Centre on Wednesday, 20th August. The girls played against four other schools, winning all four games and advancing to the Grand Final against Montrose Bay High, mostly made up of grade 10 students.
We are so proud of this group of girls. Their sportsmanship and resilience showed throughout the day was outstanding and shows what the Campania Way is all about. Coming away with runner-up in the Grand Final was a credit to you all. Congratulations, girls, and Mrs Grififiths.
